Little Dreamer

Hi everyone! Just taking a few minutes this evening to share a page I’m working on about my cute niece, Cali. My mom snapped this photo of her at one of her soccer games a few years ago. I just love the faraway look on Cali’s face. This is a girl who “longs to go to Paris,” as she says; she’s going to be an artist, after all.

Do you guys ever revisit pages when you think you’ve got them wrapped up? I’m going to make a couple of changes to this layout sometime this week.

I don’t like the way the journaling looks in my handwriting, so I’m going to print it out using American Typewriter or another old-fashioned serif font. Also, I’m going to use rhinestone flourishes to connect the butterflies in place of the pierced dots. I’ll be sure to share it with you when I’m finished!

Update: And here’s the updated layout, complete with typed journaling and rhinestone flourishes. Now I’m happy with it. {grins} But, I want to know what you think! Was it better before or after the changes?

recipe: cardstock: white (bazzill); patterned paper: june bug and nook & pantry (basicgrey), farm fresh (october afternoon); stickers: june bug (basicgrey) and sunshine lollipops (sassafras); fabric stickers: salutations thickers (american crafts); twine: jute vintage button twine (papertrey ink); rhinestones: pink crystal (zva creative); dies: beautiful butterflies and scallop circles #2 (stampin' up!); tools: Crop-a-dile corner chomper (we r memory keepers) and big shot (sizzix); font: american typewriter.

This is really cute Kim! Funny, I remember sitting on the soccer field day-dreaming when I was younger. Why don’t I ever do that anymore? 🙂
