This week — after a ridiculous amount of teasing — Courtney Baker launched her Everything But the Kitchen Sink design challenge, dedicated to using things you’d find around the house in your designs. How cool is that? Even better is that two of my crafty blogging friends, Winter and Kelly Marie, are on the design team! Our first challenge? To use something found in our mail!

The piece I chose to use from the mail is taken from the latest Restoration Hardware catalog. I cut one of the subway prints out and turned it on it’s side! I love the Manhattan feel that it gives this card when combined with the Baja Breeze butterfly and oodles of rhinestones. I pulled a little more inspiration from Restoration Hardware and added a woodgrain background for a little texture. Plus, I adore the combination of Basic Black, Baja Breeze, and More Mustard. So elegant.
Given that I’m totally out of time for posting another card for World Card Making Day tomorrow, this will have to be it. You make life sweeter my blogging friends — Happy World Card Making Day to you!
recipe: stamps: for all you do + woodgrain background (both su) + cupcake collection (pti); cardstock: Very Vanilla (su); ink: baja breeze + more mustard (su); fibers: ocean tides twill (pti); rhinestones (kaiser); 1-3/4" Circle punch (su)
