raspberry suite challenge 17

Here’s the funny thing. I originally made this card for the Embellishments magazine call but, for some reason that I can’t quite remember, I decided not to submit this one. It just didn’t seem right for the call. But when Dawn’s challenge popped up with the same colors I’d used on this card . . . well the design felt perfect. Isn’t it strange how that happens?

I tried to keep this card clean and simple and modern, but with rustic details like the worn polka-dot pattern from The Write Stuff Designer Series paper and the twine. Throw in a fancy flourish from Friends 24-7, plus a greeting with elegant script, and you’ve got a fun eclectic card that’s much simpler than the last eclectic card I made (but I love it just as much).

Home sick today, and I don’t feel up to making anything, but figured I could do a little easy cropping and color-correction. Yeah . . . this took me far, far longer than it should have. {sighs heavily} It’s very cold and rainy here in Utah today, which seems sort of fitting given how bleh I feel.

recipe: stamps: friends 24-7 + autumn 2009 tags; card stock: very vanilla + kraft; patterned paper: the write stuff designer series paper; ink: baja breeze + chocolate chip; fibers: vintage cream twine; accessories: latte buttons; punches: small corner rounder punch + scallop edge punch
