loving . . . the traveling tribe

This week, Tina at Travelingmama, one of my favorite bloggers and online friends, launched her Etsy shop! In this shop, you’ll find her gorgeous handcrafted cards and her husband’s inspiring photography (both to hang and to send — postcards!). I already have one of his photographs picked out for my craft room.

But, as with everything that Tina does, there is something unique, something special about her shop: all profits from the sales of items in her shop go to benefit schools in Morocco, where she lives. Funds for education are scarce and there is an 80 percent illiteracy rate among women. There is such a need here, and I’m so proud of Tina and her family for using their talents to make the world a better place. The buzz is going around quickly about the shop: it’s already been featured on Decor8 and Real Simple! {cheers}

In celebration of the Etsy shop opening, Tina issued a new Traveler’s Inspiration Challenge! This challenge is based on a photograph she took in one of her favorite shops in Medina. I tried to capture the flavor of an exotic vintage shop in my card . . . which was almost a scrapbook page! I know! I don’t scrapbook, but I got a burr in my saddle and I could picture the page in my head. But then . . . I was thwarted by a lack of a photo that would work. All my photos are digital, and there is no way I’m trying to print a photo on my printer. So . . . this is also the almost-a-scrapbook-page card. {giggles}
