raspberry suite challenge 15

Okay, yes: I used Groovy Guava, Kiwi Kiss, and Regal Rose to create a Thanksgiving card for Dawn’s challenge. And, yes, I blinged it out with rhinestones. This is without a doubt the girliest Thanksgiving card of all time.

This is actually the second card I tried for this challenge. The first was much more traditionally me: an image tucked behind some patterned paper with a few buttons and twine. It also went violently awry (poor image placement on my part — oy!) I realized that I was screwing that one up so badly because I wanted to be working on this card the whole time!

My girlie Thanksgiving card is absolutely one of my favorite designs that I’ve ever done: a fun, eclectic blend of vintage and modern. I offset my ribbon and gathered it with staples to add a bit of modern flair to this otherwise pretty vintage card. Also, I knew I wanted a multi-colored image (uber-mod pink pumpkin, baby!), so I inked up the stamp using sponge daubers and my Classic Stampin’ Pads. Good times! I don’t care that the Guava extends over to the Kiwi Kiss leaves — they’re turning orangey for autumn, right?

I know Thanksgiving isn’t until November (in the US) . . . you’re going to be seeing a lot of Autumn, Halloween, and Thanksgiving cards in the next few months. {grins} Tina, this card is totally for you and your daughter!

I don’t know why but I couldn’t get these colors to work either. They don’t look hard. What’s the deal?? Love your card, though! I cannot WAIT for Fall!!
