balloons: classic

To me, the image of a hot air balloon will always mean the end of summer. While the balloon festival takes place in mid-August, that usually doesn’t mean the end of the heat here in Utah. We typically ride the nineties well into September. But I’ll always associate these balloons with back-to-school, which means we’re plunging into my favorite season: autumn!

On this card, I used four different patterned papers to show the transition from spring through summer and into autumn. Pink Pirouette to Crushed Curry. Somehow it all works okay. Kind of like hot air balloons.

I had a marvelous time with my “four cards, one image” concept and plan to do something similar in the future with a different image. If you have any suggestions for what you’d like to see, I’d love to hear them. Thanks for hanging out with me during “Balloon Week”!

Oooh, this is gorgeous. I love the succession of patterned papers. So delicate. It really does invoke the passing of the seasons.

I totally loved balloon week! I wanted another themed week! Maybe the bike? I bet you could do wonders with it! 🙂
