Lawn Fawn and May Arts: What a Hoot!

You're a Hoot Card

Hi all! I’m so happy to share this little card with you today. Lawn Fawn is once again collaborating with May Arts in an inspiration-packed week of fun! I used three different May Arts ribbon to create a little backdrop for my cute Lawn Fawn owl, with everything grounded by a hexagon pattern. I love how it turned out! I totally realize that the owl isn’t available for purchase, as it was a free gift offered over last Thanksgiving, but it has similar styling to Lawn Fawn’s Into the Woods set and a little fox would be adorable with this card design. Maybe, if we’re really, really good, Kelly will bring You’re a Hoot back!

Now, onto the ribbon! Really, it was the ribbon that inspired the entire look of this card. With three different colors and textures to work with… I couldn’t choose just one! I love that wide satin ribbon with the smooth and ribbed double texture. I could seriously use that in every color!  And the twine underneath it is the softest cotton… it makes me want to knit something. (Hee!) The multi-tone yellow grosgrain is fabulous for wrapping around a card multiple times. The thin width makes this a great go-to ribbon that you can use whenever you might use twine on a card; it’s so versatile and you can even thread a large button with it!

As a side note: the ink colors I used here are Stampin’ Up!’s Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, and Wisteria Wonder.

PS. Forgive the shadows in my photo—I took this in the late afternoon, and there was just no way to help it.

Be sure to watch the Lawn Fawn blog all week long for more ribbon-tastic projects!
