I can’t even tell you how excited I was when Lawn Fawn announced this set to the design team. I’ve been wanting a cute mason jar stamp for ages, and with all the extras that Lawn Fawn packed into Summertime Charm, well, I’m tickled pink!
My first project is a simple card with a surprising pleated background using Lawn Fawn’s new Daphne’s Closet 6″ x 6″ paper pad (a little sneaky peek for you guys). Don’t you love that subtle aqua color? The plaid pattern from this paper collection makes a pretty label. And the “Hello” sticker from Lawn Fawn’s Pink Lemonade collection made for a quick and easy greeting.
A little about the paper pleating, because I bet some of you are going to want to know: I learned this technique from Online Card Classes’ Clean & Simple Card Making 2. Jennifer McGuire does a fantastic job demonstrating how this is done, in case you’re interested in learning.
And back to Summertime Charm:
Yes, this stamp set is fab for scrapbooking! I love how it coordinates with the cute printed jars on the Pink Lemonade paper. And the combo of Summertime Charm and Pink Lemonade is simply the sweetest thing ever! I just knew I had to scrapbook this picture of my niece enjoying her icy frappe at the 4th of July parade last year. She looks so grown up!
Another quick note about this layout: I double stamped some of the hearts, starting with the outline image, and then stamping inside the outline with the solid image. That created a solid image with a nicely defined edge, which made it easy to cover each of the solid images with Glossy Accents.
I hope you enjoy Summertime Charm and Pink Lemonade as much as I do! I’ll be back tomorrow with even more Pink Lemonade fun. Really, this release just had my name written all over it. Whoo hoo!
Oh, and be sure to visit the Lawn Fawn blog for a chance to get your hands on some super sweet goodies and take a peek at what else you can do with Summertime Charm.
