… in a pear tree! I just can’t help but finish that line of the song whenever I think about this fabulous stamp set: And a Partridge! It feels very Scandinavian to me, and so that’s the direction I went with my cards for the final day of Lawn Fawn’s holiday extravaganza.
Super random side note: Every time I say “extravaganza,” I think “Tony Danza Extravaganza!” and miss the peeps at Stampin’ Up! Ha!
Aaaannnyway… Here’s the first card!
I die cut the edge using two border dies from Spellbinders — I love the eyelet pattern and thought it had the perfect feel for my card. You can’t really see it in the photo, but when I die cut the front edge of the card, I set the dies in a little so the front of the card was shorter than the back. When the card is closed, you can see a pretty piece of Blue Fa La La paper behind the die-cut edge.
I kept the greeting and image simple: stamped in VersaMark on a separate piece of Kraft cardstock and heat embossed using White embossing powder from Stampin’ Up! Banner-cut the bottom edge, and you’ve got a quick focal point! I layered it over a piece of Fa La La paper for extra Norwegian pop!
The next card is a happy, modern Swedish greeting:
The color combo is Wisteria Wonder, Poppy Parade, and Lucky Limeade from Stampin’ Up! Love! And, of course, I had to use my fave trim: Lawn Trimmings! I’m such a sucker for long twine tails, and Lawn Trimmings curls so nicely, creating these big loops that you can easily twirl into place and adhere with a spot of liquid glue.
Hope you enjoyed these cards! Be sure to check out the rest of this week’s festivities on the Lawn Fawn blog.
(Check back next week: I just might be doing a happy giveaway!)
