CK Mixed Media Scrapbooking

I love playing with scrapbooking supplies. Love. It. I love getting messy with ink and seeing how new materials look on my layouts. And that’s why this special issue from Creating Keepsakesis one of the coolest ever! Mixed Media Scrapbooking has so many crazy and amazing ideas that you wouldn’t necessarily think to ever try on a layout.
For this issue, I got to make a mini album using metal and art mediums. What a blast! Seriously, stamping into candlewax on a page? Who knew? And really thin wire makes a cool accent–I used it to create a shadow for my album’s title.
You’ll have to pick up a copy of this amazing new issue to see the rest of the album. {Grins} It’s definitely worth having in your scrapbooking resource library. No matter your scrapbooking style, you’ll find a way to start working new materials into your scrapbooking. In fact, I was feeling inspired by the chapter on Fabric and Sewing, and I whipped up a Clean and Simple layout with a touch of fabric from my stash.
Self Portrait recipe: July 2012 Studio Calico kit; Fabric: Westminster Fibers.
Want to win a copy of Mixed Media Scrapbooking of your own? Just leave a comment here, telling me about a project in your scrapbooking queue that you’d want to try a new medium on. (You know, just to get you brainstorming!) On or around July 23rd, I’ll pick a winner at random, and post her name here on my blog as well as send her an e-mail. After that, you have one week to respond to claim your prize, or I’ll draw another name.
You’ll find more inspiration and more chances to win at the blogs of these CK friends!

I want to use gel medium to adhere dried flowers I found in my grandmother’s books. Hesitating a bit because I don’t want to screw this up. Wonder it such a thing is covered in that magazine. Hmm
I’m scrapping photos from my trip to Belgium – I’ve already used some gesso and spray inks and will continue experimenting with various mediums!
I love Mixed media! Thanks for the chance to win! On a side note, I found your font choice very difficult to read.
I didn’t think of it as a medium, but I guess it is – I’m in LOVE with Martha Stewart’s crafter’s clay. I’ve been sticking little creations to everything, lately! It’s so light and flat it works amazingly in albums and cards.
The medium I’d want to try more of are the tissue paper crinkled backgrounds.
I had a brief opportunity to look through the CK – I really would get loads of creative inspiration from it. Thanks for the chance!

I don’t have a specific project in mind- just want to expand my mixed media knowledge.
Love that wire word! Thanks for the chance! would love to learn more about mixed media!
I’d love to make a mixed-media journal where I could also could put images of projects I’ve seen on line that I’d like to CASE.
I want to learn how to use geso and how to blend the mist colors.
I actually have a new medium that I want to try to use on my next project – I purchased some of the glimmer mists. I do need to learn also to use paint in my cardmaking
Great layout, Kim! As for my project, my cousin was in town for a few days this week, so I’d like to do a little mixed media with some of those photos.
