Continuing Adventures

Hi, everyone! Just popping in for a few minutes to share a quick layout with you that I made during Kelly Purkey’s Sketchbook class. Wow — talk about two weeks of inspiration! As soon as I figure out what to do with a little Flickr problem I’ve run into (I can’t add more photos unless I upgrade to a paid account), I’ll post a gallery with all the pages I’ve made so far using the handouts from the class. If she does a second one, I highly recommend you take it.

I created this particular layout off a sketch that the fabulous Jenn Olson contributed to the class. Having the Studio Calico gals contribute layouts and sketch variations added so much to the class — it’s amazing how each designer was able to add her own flair to the basic design to create something incredible and tell her own story. That’s the beauty of sketches!

In other news, we’re getting ready for CK Scrap & Play in Provo — whoo hoo! — and the National Scrapbooking Day festivities on the CK Blog. Be sure to stop by April 26-May 1. There’s going to be lots of exciting things going on.

Okay, enough shameless promotion {grins}. On to the remodel news! Our dishwasher was supposed to get here yesterday. Not so much. It’s not going to be here until next week. In the meantime, we looked at some fabulous tile today for the kitchen backsplash.

My sisters’ birthdays are this weekend, so we headed over to Tine’s tonight for some cake. Mmmm. Cake. I made some cards that I’m in love with, and after my sisters get a chance to see them (hee!), I’ll post them here for you guys. With all the scrapbooking I’ve been doing, it’s easy to forget how much I love making cards. Working in a 12×12 format is a challenge that I’ve really enjoyed exploring. I have a serious lack of photos, so I’ve been working with one-photo layouts primarily, trying to stretch the photos that I have to create lots of layouts.

Hope you’re having a fab, sunny weekend. It actually feels like spring here! {knocks on wood}
